Breast Cancer Award
Posted 26 March 2009
Professor Evan Simpson has been awarded one of the highest levels of NHMRC Fellowship, a Senior Principal Research Fellowship.
The position recognises that he is a leading authority on the role of hormones in breast cancer and has made substantial and highly original contributions to the area.
Evan entered the Fellowship Scheme with an initial appointment at the SPRF level. This is highly unusual and he was one of only two individuals nationwide who achieved this this year.
This Fellowship recognises his “outstanding record as a researcher and a contributor to the broader workings of science”. Evan leads the Metabolism & Cancer laboratory at PHI.
